ORGANIC MAGIC!

People close to me know very well that I’m an organic junkie. Especially when it comes to beauty products. I was in college when I discovered the benefits of using natural products (which I will share later). Since then, I always make sure I have something like that in my cart.

Every time I use such, I feel safe and not worried about chemicals that I am taking in or putting in my body. And it’s been my advocacy to promote its goodness.

Here’s the list of my favorite Filipino Organic beauty products: (arranged alphabetically)

     Human Nature

Is the most family friendly brand among the list, because of its wide range of products. Aside from beauty stuff, they have also for kids and men.

Personal pick: Natural night moisturizer w/ Jojoba & plant collagen

Just can’t go to sleep without this. Our skin is on its reparative state while we sleep.

So moisturizing at night is one of the best and effective way to keep it beautiful.

What I love most about this product is that, unlike other facial creams, it is very light weight. Its main ingredients which is Jojoba oil, keeps my skin moisturized and acne free. While plant collagen, helps in fighting wrinkles for a much youthful glow.

 Ilog Maria

If Queen Bey will build her hive in the Philippines, it must be here! Ilog Maria is a honeybee farm in Silang, Cavite. It also has a museum and shop where their products are available. What Ilog Maria’s products made special is not just it is organic. But because of its 2 distinct ingredients. What else?  Beeswax and honey! Which is scientifically proven to be effective in treating skin problems.

Personal pick: Lavender and honey soap

Nothing is more relaxing than a warm bath with a scent of Lavender. Add it up with the sweetness and moisturizing effect of honey, then, you’re in heaven! It nourishes my skin while it melts my stress away.

Milea

This family business started when the owner’s son had a skin asthma. That’s the time when she decided to create her own creams and soaps. Later, she took formal studies in and out of the country and made it as a business. Milea’s products is all natural with Virgin coconut oil as their main ingredient which is known for its many healing and nourishing benefits.

Personal pick: Papaya enzyme soap

                                                           

Let’s be honest. Most Filipinas are obsessed with whitening products. And that includes me! ;) I can’t see anything wrong on having desire to have a fairer skin. But I believe we have to do it the safest way possible. There are many whitening products in the market that makes skin dry and dull. Whitening your skin is nice but nourishing is nicer. Nourishing your skin first is the most important. Fair skin is nothing if it is dull or dry and unhealthy.

Milea’s soaps are made of 100% organic virgin coconut oil which is known as one of the best moizturizers. While Papaya enzyme, especially the green one, is proven to lighten skin while keeping it healthy. After bathing I can feel my skin is softer and smoother.

But I have to warn you, if you want to achieve whiter skin immediately or within a short period time, I suggest try to look for other products in the market that could possibly do that. Because using natural or organic products takes longer time to take effect in skin. That’s why it must be used consistently.

Snoe

     Snoe is a partly organic brand and is known for its unique products and cool packaging. Imagine a BB cream made of wasabe and lavender! Or a face mask called “Awesome Poresome”! Cool right? It also has a wide range of products from bathing essentials, body and facial moisturizers, make-up and hair care. 

Personal pick: Star night Star bright facial toner

                                                              

Toning is an essential part in keeping your face beautiful. Aside from it evens out your skin

tone, it also conditions your skin before moisturizing for quick absorption of nutrients. Star Night Star bright toner do a lot of wonders to my skin. It effectively whitens my skin while eliminating dark and pimple marks. It also minimizes pores keeping my face look firmer and younger. Thanks to its wonder ingredients like Acai berry and Mulberry extracts which are known as powerful anti-oxidants. And Retinol, known for revitalizing skin, giving me that much youthful glow.

      Zenutrients

This brand started by bottling and selling Virgin coconut oil. Then they diverged out to selling massage oils. It was a big hit, so they decided to expand their business by selling soaps and other beauty products. It is export quality and proudly Philippine made.

Personal pick: Soothing eye cream

                                                          

Most girls disregard the skin around the eye area which is a big NO for me. Remember, it can be clearly seen how stressful you are, just by looking in your eyes. Saggy and dark skin also makes us look older so we have to take extra effort in taking care of the skin around our eye area. 

Zenutrients’ soothing eyecream is a rich cream with botanical enzymes which effectively works underneath the skin layer of eyes. It also relaxes sensitive eye muscles and improves skin elasticity to avoid wrinkles.

As a famous saying goes, “Beauty comes from within”. Actually, I really don’t know what the best definition for “beauty” is. But one thing is for sure. Whatever inside you, reflects outside. What you eat, will take effect on your body. How you nourish yourself will define a big part of your physical aspect. How you think, your attitude and outlook in life will reflect upon your aura. 

  

Achieving beauty starts from the basics. Like, washing your face right, moisturizing, eating the right stuff, exercising regularly and having enough sleep. But don’t disregard also some essential factors like avoiding vices (smoking & too much alcoholic drinks) and having a positive attitude. Sometimes, we forgot that choosing to be happy or just simply smiling makes a big difference. Just like what Christian Dior says, “Happiness is the secret to all beauty. There is no beauty without happiness.”

On the other hand, health comes along with beauty in many ways and we should always remember that just like other things, “Beauty is a responsibility” so we have to take the right and best actions to achieve it.
